Public Awareness of Education In Bogor

Education is something that really important  for society and people. Education is a media to create every single character  in a society in order to be the leader of next generation. Education is the key of successness, education is best weapon to build our career. Education is  reflection that shows advancement of a nation in the future. If the education of a nation good then the condition/quality of the Prosperity in that country will be okay too. Let us see, in Europe  and America The Quality of education is really amazing. The public awareness of  education importance is very high there. And because of that  now Europe  dan America rule anything on earth.  Economy, technology, science, any of them are most develoved by Europe and America.

Now, let us see how the condition of education in our country is. Unfortunately, the public awareness of education is really bad here. Most of people in Indonesia don’t consider that the  education is important. Young People prefer to work than to continue their study in university. This problem is happened in many places in Indonesia and Bogor is one of many cities in indonesia that having this problem. For them who lived in city side of Bogor, maybe they will not realize this. But when we see this more inside to the district side of bogor (Kabupaten), we will realize that the quality of education in bogor is still left behind. Muhadjir Effendy the the minister of education and culture said that “ the education in the district of bogor is the worst among the other region in west java “(13Juli 2017).

Ds. Ciaruteun Udik, Cibungbulang  is one of many places in District of Bogor that having the problem of education. It is a peacefull village, Near to the field and mountain, with kind peoples. But there is a serious problem on this village. The problem is about the public awareness of education. They don’t think that education is important for their live.  For them, the education at high school is more than enough for their children. After the children finishing their study in high school their parents will order them to go away, working out of town seeking for money. And The children just like the same with their parents, almost all of them don’t have any desire to change. The children don’t have any desire to continue their study. The males working as laborers and the females married immediately. And if there is someone  going to continue his study to university, the people will shocked and feel amazed like seeing something strange. it’s really rare. The amount of bachelors (S1) in the whole village is not more than 15 people. The amount is so little. There are some reasons that make this happened, economic factor is one of the the reasons. But beside that, the biggest reason of this problem is the public awareness of education in bogor especially in district area is still so little. The environment doesn’t motivate the children to change. The environment doesn’t teach their children to have a dream and to make it happen using education.

The government of  Bogor still have to care about this. They have to do something to fix this problem, one way or a another. It is a great homework for them. The government have to find a way to make the condition of education in bogor getting better. It is  also an obligation for us as college students and college teachers to serve to the society, to influence them, and to change their paradigm. We have to make them believe that education is everything and important. We have to make the people sure that dream is the door to the  succesness and the key is the education. Eventough it will be so difficult, but we have to  believe  that there’s nothing impossible in this world.
